Nature Base Practitioner Development
Nature Base practitioner development goes beyond outdoor activity delivery. It explores how play, nature connection and relational practice can support emotional wellbeing, inclusion and development.
Sessions are grounded in experiential learning, reflective practice and Nature Base’s professional experience, helping practitioners consider how outdoor environments can become spaces for regulation, connection, participation and wellbeing.
Topics can include:
Play as a tool for emotional regulation and wellbeing
Therapeutic principles within outdoor and Forest School practice
Supporting children with additional needs in natural environments
Neurodiversity, inclusion and trauma-aware outdoor facilitation
Creating safe, relational and responsive outdoor environments
Nature-based approaches to wellbeing, engagement and connection
Sessions can be delivered as workshops, reflective practice sessions, team development or bespoke professional learning for schools, charities, community organisations and other practitioners.

Working Together
Nature Base works with schools, charities, churches, Government departments, corporate teams and third-sector organisations to provide bespoke workshops, practitioner development and consultancy.
All work is designed to be practical, reflective and grounded in real-world application, supporting practitioners and organisations to build confidence in inclusive, relational and wellbeing-focused outdoor practice.
Sophie has previously delivered practitioner workshops for organisations including the NSPCC locally and works in collaboration with Wild Circle to co-ordinate Outdoor Leader and Forest School Practitioner networking events, supporting professional skill-sharing, peer learning and reflective practice across the outdoor learning sector.
